Rights

Responsibilities

Students have the right to attend school and gain an education as provided by law. However, attendance at a particular school is a privilege, not a right.

Students have the right to attend school in a safe environment that is free from disruptive behavior.

Students have the right to complete assignments missed during an absence.

Students who are unable to attend at the school site due to illness, injury or placement have the right to home/hospital instruction as regulated by state guidelines.

Minnesota Statute § 120A.366

Students are responsible for daily attendance, completing class assignments on time and bringing appropriate materials needed for class use.

Students are responsible for behaving in such a manner that supports learning for all, does not pose a potential or actual danger to themselves or others and is not disruptive to the learning process for others.

Students are responsible for obtaining and completing make-up work assigned for periods of absence.

Students are responsible for completing work assigned as part of the home/hospital instructional process.
