Responsibilities

Students have the right to a learning environment that is free from discrimination, harassment and violence based on an individual’s race, color, creed, religion, national origin, sex, age, marital status, familial status, status with regard to public assistance, sexual orientation, including gender identity or expression, or disability.

Students have the right to be free from retaliation when making good faith reports of discrimination, harassment or violence as a victim, good faith reporter, or witness.

School Board Policy 522 - Title IX Sex Nondiscrimination Policy, Grievance Procedure and Process

Students are responsible for treating other students and district employees in a manner that does not discriminate against or harass through conduct or communication. 

Students are responsible for reporting to staff (e.g., teacher or administrator) incidents of discrimination, harassment, violence or retaliation that they have experienced or of which they are aware.
